ExpeditionCraft (also written ExpeditionCraft.de) is a German Minecraft multiplayer server. The server runs on the Java Edition of Minecraft and supports version 1.21.4 and newer.[1] It describes itself as a theme park experience and combines a walkable theme park with custom minigames, adventures and regular community events.[2] The server places particular emphasis on creativity, teamwork and immersive gameplay and is aimed at players of all experience levels.[2]

History

ExpeditionCraft was founded on Month DD, YYYY by Example. Before the server opened to the public, the team spent several months building the first areas of the theme park in a closed development phase. The name of the server refers to the idea of an expedition: players are meant to explore the park step by step and discover new attractions, secrets and stories along the way.

During a closed beta phase, selected players were able to test the first attractions and minigames and give feedback. The server was subsequently opened to the public. Since then, new areas, rides and game modes have been added at regular intervals.

Gameplay

The server offers a variety of game modes, including adventure, economy, minigames, parkour and PvE content.[1]

Theme park

The centrepiece of the server is the theme park, which is divided into several themed districts. It contains rides, walk-through attractions and shows that make use of custom animations, a resource pack and synchronised sound effects. Well-known attractions include Example Attraction and Example Ride.

Minigames

In addition to the theme park, ExpeditionCraft offers its own minigames that were developed specifically for the server. These can be played alone or in teams. An overview of all game modes can be found in the article Minigames.

Events

At regular intervals, the server hosts community events such as seasonal events at Halloween and Christmas, building contests and special tournaments. Some attractions and rewards are only available for the duration of an event.

Ranks and funding

The server is financed through the sale of ranks with cosmetic advantages and through donations. The following ranks are currently available: Rank 1, Rank 2 and Rank 3. Purchased ranks do not offer any gameplay advantage over other players.

Community

The community of ExpeditionCraft is primarily organised via the server's Discord server, where announcements are published, suggestions for new attractions are collected and support is provided. Players can also contribute to the server's documentation through this wiki.

Technical details

ExpeditionCraft is hosted in Germany.[2] The server software is based on Paper.[1] Players connect via the address play.expeditioncraft.de and require at least Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.4.[1]
