Before the server opened to the public, the team spent several months building the first areas of the theme park in a closed development phase. The name of the server refers to the idea of an ''expedition'': players are meant to explore the park step by step and discover new attractions, secrets and stories along the way. During a [[Closed Beta|closed beta]] phase, selected players were able to test the first attractions and minigames and give feedback. The server was subsequently opened to the public. Since then, new areas, rides and game modes have been added at regular intervals. == Gameplay == The server offers a variety of game modes, including adventure, [[Economy|economy]], [[Minigames|minigames]], [[Parkour|parkour]] and [[Player versus environment|PvE]] content.<ref name="mcmp" /> === Theme park ===  The centrepiece of the server is the [[ExpeditionCraft Theme Park|theme park]], which is divided into several themed districts.
